There is really only one ground that one can hold.
Unfortunately, many people aren't even aware of this ground. It isn't a literal "piece of Earth" where we can create and tend our Secret Garden. Instead, it is the sacred essence of being from which we have arisen and which continues to sustain us.
It isn't accessible through an old gate with squeaky hinges. It doesn't even need a gate, because it has no enclosing wall. We don't need to go to it or enter it, because it somewhere separate from us, it exists within us. It is within us wherever we may be and we can access it whenever we need to.
In spite of this, few are familiar with their inner garden. Instead, most have created a shell around their garden and lost touch with it. As a consequence, they wander through life feeling lost, confused and afraid.
Some garden shells are rather thin or even porous and it is still able to produce and provide some good, inspiring, nurturing energy that arises from time to time, even if the owner is unaware of this inner source of guidance and what it produces. Some are familiar with this inner source and perhaps even tend to this connection and develop their awareness and ability to benefit from it. Regardless of our awareness or lack thereof or our ability and capacity to benefit from our inner garden, it is always there as long as we are here and it is always ready to help us be here now and live more fully.
Living more fully includes being able to better weather the storms of life, the chaos and confusion, the losses, the pain, the fear, the sadness and the grief we may experience. It also includes the ability to recognize, appreciate and manifest the countless blessings of life: interconnections; interdependence; beauty; nurturance; empathy; compassion; kindness; respect; morals; Love.
With a bit of real consciousness, one can learn to become more aware of this inner source of being, this true essential Self. And one can develop an ability to connect and listen within whenever wants to and wherever one might be, regardless of whatever might be happening in any particular moment. This provides an inner grounding in Self so one can become centered in Self and better able to function in life.
This is the only real ground one can hold, the only ground one needs to hold. This is the source of individual being, of divine inspiration, power, understanding and guidance. But to "hold" this ground does not mean to cling desperately to it in fear. It means to embrace it with ease and to go with the flow of Love that flows through, around and from it.
This will enable you to go with the flow of the essence of all existence, the flow of Love that can then be manifested in whatever ways might be most appropriate for any conditions and situations you may find yourself in at any given moment. This will help you see, hear, know, choose and act with the greatest possible clarity and ease. This will help you be most free and fully alive as possible, always and everywhere.
